During the visit, Salih Zeki Murzioğlu-Chairman of Samsun TSO stated that Samsun has a fair culture from the past and said, “As we all know, Samsun hosted the first national fair of Turkey in 1963 with the decision of the Council of Ministers. Although the concept of this fair is different from today's, it has added vitality to the cultural and social environment of the region and made Samsun the junction point of the region. However, in the 80s, it, unfortunately, lost its old dynamism and was closed because of the conditions of the day. The absence of a fair was an important issue in the region and bringing a new fair to Samsun was on the agenda for many years. Murzioğlu took the initiative to bring a fair to the city and with the consortium that they established with institutions that support development, they brought a modular fair center with a highly prestigious and expandable concept for Samsun. |
